 Grasshopper and Architecture
Following is a comment from an email sent to me by an architect, this is a valid point and I want to address it however I think its a good idea to post it here and get other comments ( Thank you Alejandro ;o):

GH looks really great to produce a great number of possibilities from the same model, but for us architects it is not close enough to the real world of construction. In other words: are there, or it is planed for future versions the possibility to translated all this generated models into real possibilities?. If for example I use it for creating the façade of one building, once I have some pretty form with an interesting pattern on it, I would like to translate it to plane modules with a limited number of different units with some maximum and minimum dimensions. From my point of view (and from other architects I asked about) until that is not possible, GH will not be a professional tool but just a funny tool for producing cool renders in fancy universities.

 Re: Grasshopper and Architecture
The tough part is "limited number of different units" within dimensional constraints. A tiling of a complexe surface with a limited number of different units is always a question of how close you want to be to the surface. Tiling a complexe surface is the exception rather than the rule, even the geodesic dome is an approximation.

Quoting from the Grasshopper forum "You can't panel a double curved surface using the same panel size without gaps or overlaps in between panels".

You can cut up the surface using scripts, one of the methods is to use a subunit that we know will pack, I have had some success with this. Since you will be participating in the Advanced grasshopper we will ask Daniel Piker what can be done.

The Thread is open to the bright ones out there ;o)

Hi, I know it's not suitable for me post here. But I want to seize even a little chance. We are Frontop company. We'd love to serve any one or any company that has demand of 3d rendering and animation. Frontop supplies 3d architectural renderings, 3d architectural animations, architectural visualization, 3D floor plan, etc. We have cooperated with Zaha Hadid Architect on some projects. If there is a demand of rendering, please consider us. Here is an architectural rendering for your reference.
